The Prayers of Jesus (Easter 2011)

I think it is interesting and a blessing that as we come to the end of our study of the prayers of Jesus that we would have Easter Sunday occur.  I know that we have had some Sundays that I have not been there, but Bob filled in with some great teaching, and some Sundays that we have been looking at Lighthouse children, which we are to be done with by the end of next week. Even though at times we have not been on schedule, we have been challenged in our prayer life and been more focused on specific needs.  We have seen prayer needs become much more personal and we have seen God answer our prayers in many ways.  I hope that you have been as blessed in this season of prayer focus as I have and that we have all seen a change in our understanding of the importance of prayer.

This Sunday we will be studying what is called "The High Priestly Prayer" of Jesus in John 17.  This occurence of Jesus praying was right in the middle of the Passion week and right before His being betrayed by Judas Iscariot.  We would expect our Lord to walk and talk about those things that are most important, and that is exactly what we find.   Jesus is on His way to the cross and as He prays he says some most interesting things.  Please study this prayer this week as you prepare and continue to celebrate what Jesus has done for you and I.  God Bless You.
