1. Things that have happened to the Team
- Team is tried but great.
- Those who have been working up high, Eric and Mike and Ricky, are tired but doing well, praise the Lord.
- We are all amazed at how God put the exact people on this team, in order to achieve the work that needed to be done.
- We are building a prefabricated metal building and all of the guys have had experience with this type of construction.
- We have had many problems that we did not expect to encounter, especially with the way things are done so differently in this country, but all of the people working on this project have given great testimony of patience and willingness to work things out.
2. Things that have happened with the Building
- Friday was amazing.
- As typical, we were up and ready to go at 5.30.
- We thought the day was going to be a rainy day and that we were going to be without something to do.
- Mike was our faith leader that morning and challenged us to go on to the site to see what would happen. On the way out to the site, about a 90 minute drive, we were listening to the SSBC Choir on CD. God was faithful as always to meet with us through worship. As we came to the site there was some rain, but not enough to prevent us from working. As the morning progressed, the people of the village started to come by the site wondering why we were out there. The rain was all around us, literally. We were all praying that God would give us a clear day to get the roof on the building. Slowly we started seeing the sky open up, and all day the sun shinned on the site. It was an amazing picture to see the sun shining through the opening in the cloud filled stormy day. We heard reports from many directions that people were surprised that the rain was not falling on the church site. At one point during the day the rain could even be seen just a few hundred feet down the road, but not on the site. God taught everyone a lesson about pray.
- Saturday was also another amazing experience with the weather. God again moved the rain around the site, and we had a great day of work.
3. Things that have happened in the church.
- On Thursday we were walking down the road, Rick and Brian and a translator, and we saw a gypsy woman walking toward us caring a load of firewood. As we approached her we started a conversation through the help of the translator. See was a traditional gypsy woman all covered in clothes of many colors and her hair covered. We started sharing the gospel with her by telling her the story of the Samaritan women. She started to cry as we were telling the story. Standing there in the middle of the road, with her load of wood, she prayed and was saved.
- Ken, a pastor from Mississippi, also reported that he had a whole group of ten or so pray to be saved that day.
- Rick preached in another church pastored by Brother Danut, the pastor of the Batar church. On Friday evening we saw three sawed in the church service a this church.
- In the morning part of us will be going to the church that is pastored by Elijah. The other half will be going to Batar to the church that will be meeting for the last time in the house of Pastor Danut.
4. Things to praise God for and to pray about.
- Thank God for doing amazing things with the weather to establish a rich environment of opportunity for sharing the gospel in the village.
- Thank God for helping us work out the many problems that we have encountered.
- Thank God for the souls that have been saved.
- Thank God for the strength to do this project.
- Thank God for your prayers.
- Please pray that God will multiply our efforts in order to finish the project.
