Who Are They? Those 24 Elders? (#1)

This past Sunday we took a quick tour of the throne-room of God, as written about by the Apostle John in Revelation 4 and 5. As we read through these chapters we see the answer to the question that so many ask. "What gives God the right to do the things that He does?" Answer: "He is Worthy!"

We also discussed those who were presented in this picture described by John. He starts with a colorful description of God the Father seated on the Throne.(4:1-3) Around the throne of God are 24 thrones on which there are 24 elders with crowns and dressed in white. He then presents to us some four creatures who were in the center and around the throne. (4:6-8) Then in Chapter 5 we have "The Lamb." So those present were God the Father, God the Son, the Elders, and the Creatures.

God the Father and God the Son and easily identified and the Creatures are also. The creatures are probably Cherubim. The question that most struggle with is "Who are those Crowned Elders?" I will continue this discussion latter. Stay Tuned.
