Wives with Unchurched and or Lost Husbands
I just recently started a new course at Liberty Seminary. The course is Evangelism 510. One of the requirements of the course is to read several books, one of which is "Surprising Insights from the Unchurched" by Dr. Thom Rainer. The first assignment of the course was to write an essay on one of the chapters. I choose to write on Chapter 3 "Relationships that Click." In this chapter Rainer points out the importance of relationships in bringing the unchurched to the church.
Not to bore you with all the details. I would though like to share one point about relationships that relates to the lesson for this week out of Ephesians 5. It is reported by Rainer that the most significant relationship in churching the unchurched is the relationship of the wife. Notice I did not say husband. The relationship with the wife is significant because of the impact the wife has on the churching/salvation of her husband. Rainer points out that the same statistic does not apply to the husband. Wow....... What does this tell us about the imbalance of the spiritual leadership in the home. Guys, let us stay focused and if we are not let us get focused. Sorry ladies to ignore you, but it appears that you need to be appreciated more for who you are. Maybe God knew this would be the case when he said what he did through Peter in 1 Peter 3:1-7.
Guys Would You Like to Post to the Appreciation of Your Wives
