- Things that happened to us the team.
- Today started early as the team had breakfast at 5.30 and left for Batar around 6am. We struggled today with what Brother Bob Ward calls the most important word on mission trips....Flexibility.
- Very little of our plans came together as we expected, but everyone saw God working along the way. One said tonight that his whole perspective of things changed today. That he was brought from thinking how much we were a blessing to the people of or Batar, to how much they were a blessing to us. He went on to say that he believed that we were the ones to benefit the most from the trip. A Romanian brother quickly corrected him and told him that they were blessed to see how much we were willing to sacrifice to come here and help them. This Romanian brother said that the lost in the villages were also amazed and that this was one of the reasons they were so open to hearing what we had to say about the Lord.
- The team of mechanics that God put together for this trip are an amazing match for the work to be done, and there compassion and humility for the work of God is evident. Kevin, Mike, Eric, and Ricky are the real builders of the building and they are a great team.
2. Things that happened to the building today.
- Brother Danut, the pastor of the gypsy church in Batar, said that many in the village were saying that the Americans would never finish this building for them. One of these people lives directly across the street from where the church building is going up. Please pray for us. We are hoping to talk with this man about the Lord tomorrow afternoon, about 9am in Wed morning for you.
- Today we spent the whole day with small things that will result in great reward. We have had to spent extra time on getting the slab ready to receive the building. God is making sure that we pay great attention to the foundation of the building. This almost could be a sermon topic. We will complete the installation of the anchor bolts tomorrow morning and start with the erection of the steel. Tomorrow the building will begin to rise and the people will be very interested.
3. Things that happened to the church at Batar today
- Even though things moved slowly with the building for the church in Batar, we were blessed to see seven souls won for Christ in Batar. Five of them were young people in their teens.
- Pray that tomorrow that we will continue to have opportunities to share and that God will bless us with seeing our seeds come to harvest through salvation.
4. Immediate prayer needs.
- At times it is very hard to find supplies for simple yet very important things that need to be done on the building. Tomorrow morning Elijah and I will be driving north of Oradea looking for some important supplies. Please pray for us to have success early.
- Please pray about the man across the street from the church building site. We pray that he will be saved tomorrow.
- Please pray for Nikki. A sixteen year old girl in the village who prayed to receive Christ today. See lives in an orphanage in the city, but has family she visits in Batar. Pray that someone will be available to disciple her in that place.
Thanks again for your pray support.
